Basu and his wonderful family has two big and clean rooms with attached bathroom in a bungalow in their garden next to their own house. Our 3 children slept in one room and we slept in the other. Basu's son Shardul, organised jungle walk, jeep safari, tharu Village dinner, fishing and a night in an tree top jungle cottage. All very good experiences that we highly recommend. On our jeep safari the highlight was a meeting with a lazy jaguar on the jungle road! And on the jungle walk we saw a wild elefant. Among many other things. The days without activities we relaxed in their beautiful and peaceful garden. Basus wife Sarita cooks very good food. A former guest even made a cook book from Saritas kitchen which you can buy. Everything (food, rooms, activities) is very reasonal priced. And the family does a great job to make you feel at home and relaxed. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, original and heartwarm base from where you can explore the jungle.

Namaste Bardiya Resort is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Bhurkīā, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. This bed and breakfast features free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Guests can make use of the outdoor fireplace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. It was great, my original plan was to stay 3 nights and I like it so much I stayed 7. The owner Krishna and his family, helps me with everything I needed, if it’s information, food, laundry and more. And Krishna was my guide, he knows the park so well we saw tiger almost everyday thanks to him. The room is big and clean. Highly recommended

They will arrange any kind of activity-jeep trip or walk, full day or half day. They organize it to your wishes, depending on what you hope to see. We even had a feast at a village house, with home made rice wine (fire water). Sitting around a fire, we had a great evening. I give this resort the highest recommendation possible.

There is a seating and a dining area in all units. I liked everything, so I'll just write what I liked best (in a random order): - the room (well furnished and well decorated, spacious, clean attached bathroom with very hot shower, is a little house separated from the other rooms so it's quite intimate and isolated from other guests' noise), - the food (they have real - homemade- bread !), the fact that you can order breakfast/lunch/snacks from 8 am onwards, the attention to providing good quality products, - the atmosphere (guests and staff eat dinner all together, so it's really easy to feel like you're hanging out with your friends while staying there) (also it's not too big a place - max 6 guests - and there are many nice spots to chill)(in the evening, there's also a fire to chill around all together), - the staff <3 - the walking safaris (I did also a jeep safari but I liked better the walking ones) - the general spirit in which the place is run

Everything was brilliant, from the guided hikes to the help to sort bus travel and more. On the hikes my guide Mahendra went way above what any of the others did to try and spot wildlife but in a eco friendly way. The owner and his wife were very kind and treated me like part of the family. To visit here also take the bus from Kathmandu, it’s an adventure in itself.
