Location, cleanliness facilities car parking
Easy to find, free parking nearby. Quiet. Taps - mixer (finally !!! in the whole UK trip ;-). The bathroom is spacious. Good for overnight staying. Internet - good. All instructions to get in were sent via message . Getting in - take keys from a box behind the building.
Very welcoming & friendly staff, we arrived 11:30am but let us check in early, Plenty of free parking in the car park, Breakfast was very nice with lots off Choice cereal, fruit, yoghurts & full English breakfast with tea, coffee & juice. Bus stops outside to Durham or Newcastle, Beamish 7 minutes away by car too.
The hotel was right in the heart of town so the location was excellent with lots of pubs and eateries nearby. It was also only around a mile or so from the cricket ground which was the reason we were there. The hotel also provides free parking in the car park just around the back by giving you a permit to display which was very handy too. The room was clean and tidy and was competitively priced.
Cleanliness excellent. Bed very comfortable. Obvious that hosts care deeply about guest comfort as so many thoughtful touches of quality and taste that makes this guesthouse special. Breakfast wonderful. Second stay here for a reason. Location perfect as very short walk to action yet free parking nearby.
Located in the centre of the town private secure parking lots of places to eat nearby and the town's people were so welcoming
We had been to the Three Horseshoes for drinks when staying in Barnard Castle so thought we would give it a try staying there as only visiting for one night. Although the room we had was "off site" (maybe could have been more details about exactly where before we arrived - parked up in dedicated car park then had to move), it was only across the town square and very comfortable it was too, with on street parking right outside. Breakfast was excellent the next morning after a very comfortable nights sleep.
Superb hotel for exploring Barnard Castle and the Dales. No on site car parking, but plenty of free on-street parking. Excellent food portions and a very friendly staff.
