Welfare Agroturismo was part of the São Tomé round trip I have made with my girlfriend. The hotel is small (5 rooms only) and quite remote, but surrounded by beautiful nature. It has a very beautiful garden full of flowers, vanilla, fruits… and there are several options for tours to explore the center of the island (visit of Monte Cafe and Jardim Botanico de Bom Sucesso; hike to Lagoa Amelia; or you just start a hike along the old paths directly from the agroturismo).
The hosts are so lovely and great cooks. Especially the dinners were really great and diverse.
I would definitely come back again!

Tomas has put a lot of love and effort into building this place, if you're looking for something unique, go and stay there. The bungalows are simple, but nice. You can have dinner on request and also use the kitchen to prepare something yourself. You'll get an amazing view on Cao Grande from different angles, best one is from the canoe you can rent, on the nearby river.

Excellent choice. Clean, safe, very nice staff. Comfortable beds. They even have a chocolate factory inside the hotel which gave an amazing smell going up and down the stairs.

The location right in the middle of the city is definitely the best attribute. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the AC is a bonus. If you stay on a room facing the street it might be a bit noisy during the night/early morning. But overall is a good value for what they charge.
