Vadstena is a very traditional STF Vandrarhem. Pay extra if you don't bring your own sheets. But the price is right. A great place to mingle with other travelers.
The guest kitchen is well equiped with 2 sets of stoves, sinks and fridges.
We came just after high season so they had stopped serving breakfast. The tourist attractions, restaurants and grocery store are within a comfortable walk.
The facility used to be an old people's home, so is designed with nice common spaces including a porch for sitting and some apple trees to lay under in summer.
Vadstena has an important story to tell about Vasa and the reformation. Some of the village and many buildings are renovated from the middle ages. The lake setting is stunning.

Being in the Center of historic Vadstena with the old buildings and the amazing views of lake Vättern can’t be wrong and the room as wonderful! Parking was also very well organised and free!
Easy to reach. Spacious. WiFi worked well. Within five minutes walk to centre. Terrific free parking in front of hotel. Great view of the castle. Oscar was extremely helpful.
There was a breakfast room in our building, where we could bring our food and eat there. We liked the simplicity of the rooms (single beds) a bathroom, and magical views of the lake. The nearby village was delightful and there was parking for our car across the road from our room.
Easy parking in yard. Very good location between slott and kloster area, short walk to both. Extremely good interior, in balcony one could sit and just relax, view was nice.
Quiet locationt, about 10 minutes walk to the Vadstena. Free parking. Lovely garden and porch with sitting groups. Rooms were clean, easy self check in. Good communication from the hostel about it. Maps and tourist brochures in the lobby. Good organized kitchen, good wi-fi. Cozy.
