We stayed here for four nights and explored the beautiful Eastern side of La Réunion - our preferred side. We liked the location: you can walk down to the shore or explore the beautiful surroundings. There are good restaurants in the next village and some nice hiking trails nearby (like the coastal trails from Anse de Cascades)
The highlight is the pool with ocean views where you can relax and refresh yourself after a day of hiking (you cannot swim in the ocean). Another highlight is breakfast with your hosts and fellow travelers. Anis and Dani are very keen to make you feel at home, speak English, and provide valuable recommendations. The tour of the nearby lava caves was one of the most thrilling and memorable experiences from our trip.

I arrived Sainte-Rose on a Christmas evening when everything was closed. Hungry and tired after hours of driving, I asked if the host was able to provide me some simple bread as dinner with my mere few words of French. They were so friendly and concerned, and after 15 mins, they showed up in my room again with a full spread of toast with foie gras, made a few cheese tarts, fruit and shared some fizzy drinks with me - most heartwarming Christmas dinner ever! They did all they can to make sure I feel comfortable though we speak different language. They even woke up early and showed me the beautiful sunrise at their garden at 6am when I said I am a photographer and I love sunrise. The location is very convenient too if you are visiting the Lava Church nearby. The guest room (2 bedrooms, large kitchen, living room and cosy bathroom) is very spacious and homey, accompanied with a beautiful courtyard and garden.

We liked the remote location of this property. They owners are very nice and although the speak very little English (which is aperently quiet normal on Reunion island), it was ok to communicate with hand and feet ;-). The owners are very welcoming people. This property is on a vanilla plantation, the private garden is maintained with passion and love. The view is stunning!!
