The staff helped me with breakfast. I am vegetarian and they provided me with good options. I wrote to them in advance, of course. I appreciated it a lot. The hotel itself is beautiful, very quiet, at least it was when I was there. The room I was in was large but each room varies a little. The rooms have a fridge, which is great so you can purchase whatever you want from the nearby large supermarket (just steps away) and keep it in the fridge. I loved the balcony. The restaurants is beautiful and what I ordered was tasty (and the portion was good). The pool is huge and perfectly clean. Fabulous place.

I liked the fact that I had the pool of for myself since there was nobody else using it. However, this is really only suitable for those who speak fluent Portuguese for the reason highlighted below. Also do not place any garbage in the room of any kind because you will be invaded by ants.

The family are awesome, they spent lots of their time giving us lots of good informations. The place is beautiful. The room is in a good size for 3, the beds are confortable and all places smells nice. The breakfast is delicious! We loved the views, the village, the people, castle and the fluvial beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my long stay at Alegria Rustica, Anna and Mark were such lovely hosts and really made me feel welcome and ensured I was always happy and comfortable during my stay. The breakfasts were great and filling, lots of organic items like fruit and eggs included from their own garden as well. A great place to visit for some peace and quiet outside the major cities where you can really enjoy the great summer weather and explore the beautiful nature that can be found in central Portugal. There are some great hikes in the area.

This is beautiful, quaint little house with a small garden in a tiny village of 40 or so inhabitants. For those looking for peace and quiet it's perfect. The house is well equipped and comfortable. You could spend all day looking at the view but if you do get out there are wonderful hikes and river beaches not far from the house. Anna, the host, is lovely and responsive with great recommendations!
