We had a great time in Casa da Costa! Maria is one of the best hosts we have ever had! She was very attentive, and communicative. She treated us like family! We stayed an entire week, and at some point, we ran out of wood for the fireplace. The house has inverter units, so it wasn't an emergency. However, Maria came quickly and brought us more wood! We were welcomed with Alvarinho wine, fresh bread, "happy cheese" from the Happy Goats of Melgaço! Other goodies and of course Maria's beautiful smile! The house had everything we needed, was spotless and we loved to use the fireplace and the grill! It was spacious and had a nice kitchen. We also loved the location, as it was quite centered between Melgaço, Castro de Laboreiro, and part of Geres National Park! We enjoyed the silence as we walk at night. We even bought eggs, wine, and choriço from a neighbor and those were delicious! The views from this house are incredible! We would love to return one day, and I recommend Casa da Costa to anyone that is looking to have a unique experience!

This property is such a wonderful place to stay: clean, extremely spacious, there are 2 beautiful cosy lounges where you can sit and relax, read or have a drink. There place is full of character and charm: lots of interesting books and maps, pictures and photographs on the walls. The staff are top rated: kind and friendly, informative and helpful. The location is perfect. You can stay there for a few nights and everything is walking distance. Absolutely worth the very reasonable price plus a lovely breakfast.

We loved the house itself. It was pretty big for the 3 of us, and felt very cosy. The terrace is also huge, but it rained frequently so we didn't get to use the grill. Castro Laboreiro is a rather genuine place, where mass tourism is not welcome. The trails are a bit wild, but some pretty accessible. You should try to do a jeep trip to the Planalto, and visit the Ponte da Cava Velha.

Nice hotel room with nice view on the mountain from the balcony. At night there are a lot of stars to see in the sky. The breakfast was really good. Free parking was nice too. Close to the hike that leads to the castelo.
