The host was extremely friendly and happy to help, and the location was really good, as it was just a couple of minutes drive away from the main city of Madalena. It also had a supermarket and restaurant nearby, as well as local points of interest (Piscinas Naturas da Criação Velha). The place was also extremely spacious - especially for just a couple - with a fully-equipped kitchen, and a very comfy bed.

The view from the front door was an impressive view of Pico mountain. The location was great. It was close to swimming and the town of Madalena, and quiet. Lots of good restaurants and easy to get around. Shopping for groceries was convenient, as was using this location as a starting point to visit Pico.

At first Casa da Ilha seemed to be a quiet countryside house with all of the modern amenities. The property itself is very good and the host Rui was excellent plus went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
