Awesome location in fantastic wee walled town perched on top of a rocky hill. We loved that it was an old building but with modern facilities. Clean, tidy, friendly staff, comfy bed, nice shower and bonus of the spa which could be booked for privacy. Great to have breakfast included. We went at a quieter time and I'm pretty sure we got a free upgrade as our room had a balcony and view.

Breakfast was very good: hot meal, coffee, juices and fresh bread. I’m not a big eater though, so can’t vouch for those fans of continental style. Location couldn’t be better, complete immersive experience in the medieval times. Room was spacious and quiet, with cabinets full of warm blankets and pillows. Bathroom is clean, all essentials were there. Sr. Manuel is courteous and accommodating. We felt welcomed in the hotel.

Facing Santa Maria da Devesa Church and in the main square of Castelo de Vide, Casa Amarela TH & National Monument is a 17th century restored manor house, classified National Monument.

Breakfast was brought to us every day, and was lovely and plentiful. The pool area was beautiful. The gardens were so well kept and a delight to sit in. Our stay was very peaceful.

Everything, excellent location in the valley below Castelo de Vide. Very welcoming and friendly hosts who serve a superb breakfast. You can really relax here and unwind with a swim in the pool or go for a stroll in the beautiful countryside.

We liked everything about the place but especially the kindness and availability of Sra Luisa and Sr João. They were radiating friendliness and care, our son (1 year old) was jumping in their arms every time he saw them :) Sefardita, a tastefully refurbished house, is located just couple of minutes away from the castle. Its location is perfect and very convenient. Everything in the house is new and taken care of, the place has plenty of space. The stairs are not as bad as described in other comments (at least for a couple in their late 30s). The only thing I can mention is that the floor downstairs is pretty cold (for children that don't walk yet) and during the night it can get quite cold in the house (it was not an issue for us because days were still hot). The kitchen is equipped with all you need during your stay, even to cook some simple meals, the bedroom is cozy and bigger than it seems from the pictures. The baby cot was kindly provided upon request and was prepared with great care. Moreover, there are maps and guids of nearby places in Alentejo available at the property. Castelo de Vide is such a beautiful place, I am glad we chose it as our place to stay as I preferred it to Marvão or Portalegre which we visited during the stay. It has restaurants, cafes, bakeries and a few shops. People are friendly and helpful. The attractions are free and the House of Inquisition is really worth visiting (but a bit scary!)

Filipa and Rodrigo were very friendly and helpful hosts, very communicative and forthcoming. The place is in a rural area among other farms, it is far from roads or other external noise. It has a modern interior, large windows, nice bathroom, and comfortable beds.
