Beachfront, can snorkel a few steps away. Large room, basic and has everything you need. No tv nor fridge, but you don’t need the tv when the beach is there nor would you need the fridge as the restaurant is just a few steps away from your door and would have everything. Shower area and toilet have no separator but the hot shower is nice. Thanks for accommodating my customised food requests especially the prawn curry (which was not on the menu). The tuna sandwich is good too. Still the best cooking I’ve had my entire time in Siargao. Has starlink wifi (strictly for guests) and was able to work with no issue for a few days. Owner may seem aloof at first but he’s actually nice. Very friendly and polite staff. I especially liked the quiet early mornings at the cottages. Thanks Lyn and Karl for having me.

Fantastic place and fantastic people. My wife and I decided to explore the island by scooter shortly after arriving in Siargao; we intended to only stay a couple of nights and then return to General Luna, but we ended up extending and staying at DaRosa Del Mar for the remainder of our vacation. The place is wonderful. The bungalows are fitted out to a very high quality, with comfy beds and spacious modern bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful with colourful flowers/orchids, coconut trees, and nice areas to relax. The beach is the best we found throughout our entire time in Siargao; lovely sand, and great for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking (available for guests to use). The restaurant serves a variety of delicious food, served by attentive and friendly staff, and is popular with Siargao residents who travel just for the great food and dining atmosphere, even if not staying at the resort. The resort is a great base for exploring Siargao island's attractions, including Sugba Lagoon, Magpopongko Rock Pools, and Pacifico Beach, which we visited on our rented scooter. Dave and Rose have created a wonderful place, and they are lovely people and great hosts. I understand that the resort took some damage from the typhoon that hit in December 2021 shortly after we left, which is very sad given all the hard work that Dave and Rose have put in to create the resort. However, I also understand that they intend to fix it all up and re-open as soon as possible, so I would highly recommend everyone explore the island (beyond General Luna), and spend some time at Dave and Rose's place.

Everything was great, the family were SO lovely and friendly. You can pay a tiny bit extra to have dinner together with them. They have a few rooms so there was other travellers there too and a nice big spaces outside to hang out. The bed was comfy, they have free water, you can use they kitchen and then can arrange everything there like surf lessons and scooter etc for a good price.

Beautiful hostel, comfortable beds, lockers, there are even little tables and chairs in the dorm room. The beach is 1 minute walk and it's one of the prettiest beaches in Siargao with beautiful sunsets. There aren't many restaurants nearby but there is a well equipped kitchen in the hostel. Perfect place to chill and escape from the crowds.

Subangan is a nice homestay to stay in your trip to the north of the island. Rooms are spacious and clean. The best thing is the lady that runs it; I left an important thing there and she made the impossible to give it to me before I was leaving the island. Highly recommend!
