Great host! The lodge is very clean and the decor interesting. We heard the waves crashing all night. Simon built us a fire overlooking the ocean as the sun was setting. Magical!

We didn't want to leave this place. It had everything we needed. We didn't realise just how close it was to the beach - around 50m, which was amazing. Such a quiet and peaceful location. Chris was really friendly when we checked in.

Featuring views of the Tasman Sea, The Old Slaughterhouse Traveller's Lodge in Hector offers self-catering accommodation.

The simple, cosy rooms in an annex building, are surrounded by a large deck, allowing guests to enjoy views of the sunset over the Tasman Sea. In the main building there is a shared lounge with a log fire and a fully equipped shared kitchen and shared bathrooms.

We didn't feel like leaving this place. It is located in such a beautiful spot on top of a hill. The house itself is exceptionally well designed and built. Creativity at it's best. Susanna was very helpful and made the stay even better. Hope to be back here once again.

The location was good with secure parking. The house was amazing and would be great for group hire, but alone not so much as I felt like I was in someone's house, rather than paying for a Motel room. Just a short walk to the sea.
