So good - an amazing location off the beaten path, views to die for and incredible facilities especially given the remote location! Even better there was no cell reception so no chance of being distracted from the amazing surroundings, a proper escape. Amazing starscapes at night and super comfy beds to enjoy them from if the weather gets a bit cold. Harriet & David really have thought of everything, we will be back!
This lakefront eco-property is located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, just a 25-minute scenic drive from Queenstown and 15-minutes drive from Glenorchy.

This is not a "lodge". This is a work of art, which you can stay at. Every aspect of the house interior is thoughtfully and aesthetically decorated using vibrant, warm colours and richly textured wood. The toilet's cistern is a fish tank (no, really!). The house is situated in a large and extraordinary garden filled with trees, flowers, water features, and sculpture. There is (of course) a large number of peacocks, which you can feed. Kitchen, bath, and toilet are shared but very well equipped, and very clean.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.

Made us feel like home once we stepped in. Clean, tidy and cosy and amenities were all very comprehensively provided from light cooking to shower to washer to bicycles to explore nearby. Instructions from our lovely hosts were well communicated before our arrival. House was decorated with lovely Glenorchy/NZ-made decor such as cups, wall decor and inspired us to buy them as well at Frank's store nearby! A TRUE BLUE GLENORCHY STAY EXPERIENCE. Parking is available outside the house.
After a LONG drive to what felt like the wilderness we approached a building that appeared to be in the middle of some renovations the wonderful EcoScapes team made us feel right at home. We were in the second of the two cottages, which unfortunately had someone's car parked directly in our view but the view was amazing. I think you'd get the perfect view in the first cottage. However that didn't stop the mountainscape being simply specactular. In fact everything was amazing. The space was beautifully designed.
Easy to find, we arrived late but key available and note for us stating room number etc was left at reception.
Good size room, tidy, spacious and parking on site.
I'd like to say thank you to Ecoscapes staff. They all welcomed us warmly and made our stay amazing.

2. Amazing home-cooked food, steak was awesome
3. Very quiet and peaceful environment
