Breathtakingly beautiful view of the Tyrifjord from our room. We were very glad to have paid extra for a lake view with a balcony - that made our stay extra special, and I was able to get some incredible photos of the Tyrifjord at sunset.
The room was lovely. Generously sized, with a fantastic bathroom, and a fridge. Very comfortable bed, with good space either side of the bed, and bedside tables with lamps.
The staff were really helpful. Online ordering worked great - we ordered a pizza, a burger, and some beers, and got a text to say our order was ready to collect from reception. Prices for food and drinks at the hotel were reasonable for Norway. The coffee was excellent too.
Vikersund is the closest train station to the Krøderbanen heritage railway, which we came to visit for the twilight train and a steam gala. The Krøderbanen is totally worth a visit for heritage railway enthusiasts - it's the longest standard gauge heritage railway in Norway, and the location is beautiful with wonderful scenery - and some gorgeous locomotives and rolling stock.
Fredelig plass for rekreasjon, featuring barbecue facilities, is situated in Krøderen, 31 km from Vikersund Ski Flying arena and 40 km from Blaafarveværket.

The place is beautiful and very quiet. We had a well equipped cottage with nice rooms and a beautiful position near the wood. The owners are very nice and kind, it was a shame only to be there for one night.

It was amazing, a historic house fully renovated and overwhelming comfy in the Norwegian "nowhere" with hosts who really care of their guests, prepared many lovingly things and information. Our stay was way too short to try hikes in the wood or using the raw boat. This is an absoluty "yes, anytime again"!

Great spacious business hotel directly at the beach. Rooms were quite big and the bed was really good. It has a very good restaurant on site, as well as a bar. Outside sitting was a delight! Ample parking, no charge, too.
With lake view rooms, the view is nice.
