We stayed at Omurenga Lodge for two nights on our way to Etosha, and it was truly one of the highlights of our two-week trip through Namibia.
Nestled in the Erongo Mountains, this lodge is wonderfully isolated, offering breathtaking views that simply can't be captured in photos. One could spend hours just sitting outside, soaking in the endless landscape!
Each "room" is essentially a separate building, providing loads of privacy. Our room was massive, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, including mosquito sprays (though we never needed them). The large outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the incredible scenery. The main building houses a lovely pool, again with that stunning view. Inside, there's plenty of room to relax and unwind.
What really stood out to us, beyond the natural beauty, was the hospitality. The host and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
And the food—wow! It was hands down the best we had during our entire trip. Creative, perfectly executed, and absolutely delicious, the meals at Omurenga rivaled anything we've had in top-tier restaurants back at home.
We also did the sundowner drive. While the wildlife sightings aren't as prolific as in other parts of Namibia, we still thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, chatting with our wonderful guide, and witnessing a beautiful sunset from a scenic spot frequented by baboons.
For us, Omurenga was the perfect place to relax and recharge before heading to Etosha. It’s a peaceful retreat that offers not only stunning views and comfort but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone traveling through this part of Namibia.

Even better than in the pictures! What a wonderful place, we had a lovely time in the Kudu room, facing the waterhole on one side and the pool on the other.
The owner is so friendly and caring, her staff is super professional, friendly and made our stay one that we will remember! The Chef is a young guy who makes wonders with his whole heart: dinner and breakfast were delicious, generously served, high level for sure!
It’s very close to the San Living Museum which we recommend visiting as well!

The hosts Matthys and Michelle are very nice and friendly and provide you with everything you need.
The selfmade dinner from Matthys (Namibian stew) was exceptional and I recommend everyone to take that.
He also had some self made "Zebra Jerky" meat that was amazing.

Wonderful location, with a water source where zebras and oryx come to drink at night. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished. A mid-range lodge where it would have been worth staying for more days than we did, to explore the surroundings more leisurely.

A very pleasant hotel with a garden, lots of trees and situated by the river. It has an easy going feeling about it. We actually chose to overnight twice during our Namibia holiday this year.

This place is the best! If you are staying in this area, there is no better! Food is great, staff super friendly, safe locked parking area and it is central to town and all the attractions.
Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Although the restaurant was not open for dinner only 25 yards away was another hotel/restaurant that had a good choice of meal. The hotel had secure parking and it was very hard to hear traffic noise as it was not on a busy route.
Comfortable rooms, nice backyard where one could also do a barbecue.
Friendly and trustful owners (we could take drinks from the restaurant fridge in the evening and just write down what we took).
