the breakfast was quite outstanding - delicious Sri Lankan fare served beautifully. Staff were lovely (the owner is charming) and the property has so much character - we loved the quirky bathrooms and all the little design touches. Perfect place to stop en route down south.

If you're someone that enjoys architecture that reveals itself through thoughtful details - this is an experience you must have and open your world to Geoffrey Bawa's wizardry. The staff is so warm and it feels like you're straight up at home in Colombo - go out of the way to take care of you. Comfiest apartment, you're in a living, breathing piece of art. Ideal for 2 people as there is only one bathroom in the apartment, though there are two (gorgeous) bedrooms. The staff informed us about this well in time so it wasn't a problem for any of us - but folks who many not be too close may want to consider this.
