Pradeep and his family were wonderful hosts! Everything was taken care of: a wonderful varied breakfast and Pradeeps mom made the best dinner (Rice and curry) we had so far! Pradeep took us on a sunset walk on our first evening and he also have us a tour of his farm. He told us lots of stories and gave tips and tricks for the next parts of our trip. Pradeep also fixed a half day Safari in Minneriya for us and gave us some lunch for on the way. A perfect experience!
Originally we planned on staying one night but it was so wonderful that we ended up staying 3 nights (and even then we were still a bit sad to leave). 10/10 would recommend!

Ruan was the most amazing host for this beautiful homestay. We exchanged a lot of stories and had such a great time with him and his family. They cooked amazing food for us, homegrown from their own farm and Ruan sat with us through each meal and we had great conversations with him.

We only stayed at this small boutique hotel for the one night, en route back to the airport and all we can say is: Wow! What an absolutely amazing hotel, everything was to the highest standard in every aspect of this hotel; we opted for the Elephant suite which afforded us the most amazing views over the lakes and mountains and these were truly breath taking, the birds and wildlife we witnessed in this short stay was amazing: Sea Eagles, parrots, barbets, minor birds, herons ibis it was breath taking and the hotel even organises trips to see the slender loris which we intend to do on our next visit, as it was that amazing we are already planning our return visit there as it is also very central for many of the other local tourist attractions. Our meals were all individually cooked and prepared and once again all we could say was ‘Wow!’ The food was definitely next level compared to anything else we experienced during our stay; our dietary requirements were discussed on our arrival and we were blown away by the standard of our traditional Sri Lankan dinner that was cooked for us and the deep fried lake fish was a first and most exquisite accompaniment to the dinner all of it was absolutely delightful and after we finished breakfast on the day we departed I didn’t think I would need to eat again for a week, everything was home grown freshly prepared and amazing, our hosts were attentive and so friendly we would definitely recommend this hotel and will most certainly return. Thanks to Ravi and his wife for one of the nicest hotel experiences of our life.

However, what truly stands out is the staff. Nalin and the rest of the team were incredibly attentive. In fact, we had an issue with our car, and they went above and beyond to resolve it, even though they didn't have to.

Cannot thank the staff enough. We had the best 7 days on Sri Lanka thanks to their amazing hospitality. The room was massive and we had 2 interconnected rooms that were very clean and well maintained. The food was incredible and well worth paying for half board. My kids asked if we could stay forever! What a beautiful homestay! We loved our hosts, the room was so spacious, with a lovely outside terrace and totally spotless. We were greeted with big smiles and a welcome drink. Breakfast was delicious and huge. Calm, peaceful environment. So close to the amazing cave temple and golden Buddha. Our host spent so much time giving us lots of helpful information and even walked us to the bus stop to help catch the right bus to Kandy. Dinner is also available upon request. I would highly recommend SA Village. What a lovely place to stay…we really enjoyed it and would happily stay again!
