We had a good stay at Windy Ridge Kandy. It was a very quiet, green and clean accommodation. Very soft bed linen. We are also vegan and had informed the accommodation of this in advance. We had a very tasty breakfast with rotis, fresh fruit and fresh juice. When we took the train to Ella early the next day, we were given a delicious packed lunch. It wasn't far to the town either.
What we also found very nice was that the hosts were also the owners. So there is a lot of love in the property.

A jewel of a hotel. A magnificent waluwaa which has been lovingly restored and decorated. The art collection is mesmerising especially for anyone with an interest in Sri Lankan art and history. David has done a superb job and we only wished we had stayed longer. The meals on the vernada were superb quality and portion sizes were just right. We enjoyed a walk around the estate grounds. Highly recommended and would lend itself to a longer stay as a well located base and so much nicer than being in Kandy or a large impersonal hotel.

The stay was overwhelming! Very nice staff who were happy to give tips for the excursions. Clean hotel and clean rooms. They even cooked "Rice and Curry" in the evening! Really exceptionally good and highly recommended! Taxi for the onward journey was also organised!
