The buffet selection was good. We especially like the teppan beef steak, stewed beef, udon soup, seaweed+sashimi don.
The sashimi, however, was not as fresh. The vegetable tempura were cold and oily.

A few days before the start of our journey, the hotel contacted us to say that they were unfortunately unable to provide us with the room due to work. However, they offered to book a room for us at their partner hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away at Kutsurogijuku Shintaki.
The staff were very accommodating and even when we asked for a vegan dinner, everything was made possible.
We were very satisfied.

Absolutely lovely staff, beautiful landscape and wonderful baths. I really recommend renting one of the private baths. We got the wooden bathtub with open view into the woods and Yu river and were stunned by the beauty of everything. The meal in the restaurant consisted of regional specialties as well as a big buffet to choose from. I would definitely like to return here!
