Just a 3 minutes’ walk from Yudanaka Station in Yamanouchi, Hotel Yudanaka features natural hot spring baths, and offers free Wi-Fi and parking.

The tatami-mat flooring makes the rooms warm and cosy. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV and comfortable Japanese futon bedding. Some have a private bathroom.

The room was much bigger than I anticipated, and in a Japanese style (with tatami) so I was pleasantly surprised. The onsen in the hotel was an absolute delight. It had several baths with different temperatures, a lounge space, a sauna, a cold bath (which can be rare), and of course everything needed to wash yourself thoroughly before going into the baths. The hotel also provides body towels as well as face towels, so you don't need to bring yours. They have lockers to keep your items safe while bathing. There's free breakfast (little pieces of bread + some juice and coffee/tea) and a space on the first floor to relax after the onsen for example. It has wifi there as well.

It was a super authentic Ryukan experience, the host was super friendly and courteous. We recommend booking the authentic breakfast and diner for full experience. If you travel as a couple there is even a private onsen you can use together. Everything was super Clean. 100% recommendation

Located within 4.7 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 10 km of Ryuoo Ski Park in Yamanouchi, 楽奇温泉旅館 provides accommodation with seating area. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. Guests can use the hot spring bath and the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views.

We loved everything about the place. It was the most comfortable japanese style room we had in Japan with a thicker futon. The room is beautiful with balcony, a mini fridge and tea set. Breakfast was really worth it, and we regretted not booking it for all the days. They were so kind to drove us to the monkey park in the morning and pick us up in the evening. The onsen is really nice, no issues with tattoos, and we were allowed to use it as a couple. The town is small but very nice with nice bars and restaurants with great vegan options.

A 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, Hotel Tsubakino features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths with a vista of snowy mountain peaks. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms with free Wi-Fi.

From Tsubakino Hotel it is a 40-minute drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park, as well as to the Hokusai-kan Museum in Obuse Town.

The hotel has the Japanese architecture style which is brilliant and the rooms are amazingly spacious. We had mountain views and it was spectacular to wake up and see the snow fall outside our window. The staff members are fabulous and liking to help with anything we asked for. The breakfast is delicious on both options, Japanese and western. Loved everything about this hotel.

The location is very convenient if arriving by train - only a few minutes walk. Also restaurants within walking distance. If arriving by car/motorbike there's a few parking spots. Seki-san, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful! She also cooks a mean (japanese-style) breakfast, highly recommended :) The shared room is split into private rooms using a big divider and even so there were only 2 beds, not 4 as advertised, so definitely less "hostel" and more "hotel" - no bunk-beds here!
