The property is in the countryside but it has a bus-stop which is 6 mins walk away with 2 daily buses that goes to Taketa train station where you can catch the train to Mt. Aso or to Kumamoto. It is really quiet and is connected to an onsen shared for public use. The room is large and comfortable and dinner was local specialties with substantial servings and courses. Free tea and coffee was also available for guests.
The owner was very warm and helpful as we were delayed coming to the property and when we had to depart before breakfast, he made us onigiri to take along for breakfast.

A really cool place to stay! All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Very responsive to messages and questions.
The shuttle service was amazing and convenient as someone who travels by public transportation. There is so much to do at the lodge. They have saunas, you can swim in the river; there are also inflatable rafts, bikes, bathing suits, and BBQ equipment available for renting.
If you are ever passing between Kumamoto and Oita, you should stop by!

The staff is very helpful and caring. When it started raining, the staff quickly distribute umbrellas in each tent for the guests.
The tents and facilities were well setup. We were well protected under rain to have an enjoyable barbecue dinner.

The evening meal was self grill / barbeque and a large amount of meat was supplied along with rice, pickles and salad. Breakfast was OK.

The place is nice and neat. The location is very good. The parking space is just 2 mins from the property. The breakfast is nice as well (omelette, bread, coffee/tea/juice). There is also a welcome drink for each guest which is very nice!
The host is really helpful and provides us with much advice for our trip!
