There's a comprehensive booklet that introduces the history of the house and the fascinating stories that took place within it, and the entire space is filled with details corresponding to those narrated in the booklet, waiting to be explored. The house is lovely, and although it's a bit of a trek from Shingu Station, is in a quiet part of town close to a kakigori shop, and also not far from Kamikura Shrine. As a bonus, I ended up having the entire place to myself, which made it much easier to recuperate from days of trekking along the Kumano Kodo.
