This hotel is a gem. Like a beautiful oasis it is set in a fabulous location. The rooms were large but basic but get clean and well thought out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A free transfer was offered to and from Nagiso station which was a great help. The hotel is peaceful and feels so tranquil. The onsen baths were wonderful. But the best thing is the dinner and breakfast. What a wow!! Can’t wait to come back

A perfect ryokan, it is everything you want from the rooms, to the onsen with a view on the waterfall, to the excellent dinner, breakfast and the good service by the hosts. It is also a good beginning if you want to travel through the Kiso valley. I would recommend arriving early (16:00-17:00) to

Lovely staff, communicative and met us as soon as we arrived. Had everything we needed and more, made for a really enjoyable night stay. Very well stocked kitchen and spotless throughout. We were just a couple so big for two (which we knew) but would be absolutely ideal for a group of friends

It is a very cozy, well equiped and big Apartment. It has everything you might need.
The Host Takashi san is also very nice and has a massive collection of Vinyls that you can borrow and listen to. The neighborhood is quiet and there are Restaurants and Shops within Walking distance. Also the JR Station is 5 minutes away so you can get easily to the Nakasendo Trail. We would recommend staying in the guesthouse.

Proximity to Atera Valley and River with beautiful emerald green water; great food; very responsive and helpful staff who assisted us with luggage transfer to Tokyo, and transport to train station.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Beautiful location in its own valley in the mountains. In late April the flowering peach trees look beautiful! This property is an annex of Hotel Fukinomori, just across the car park, and is an excellent way to enjoy the hotel’s facilities at a cheaper price, especially the amazing onsen and its view. If you don’t mind missing out on the kaiseki course meal then this is a great ryokan experience for a much lower price. It’s also a short drive / shuttle bus to the nearby post-towns of Tsumago and Magome, highly recommended!
This accomodation was the perfect home base to walk the Nakasendo. The accomodation was very nice and beautifully furnished. We had a lot of space for our luggage and also a parking lot in front of the house is provided. The communication with the host and all the organisation worked perfectly. Arigato gozaimasu for a wonderful stay! (:
