Lovely little hotel type place. The two elderly who run it were both really friendly and helpful for any questions I had. Room was a really good size for the price and the communial area had lots to offer - massage chair, manga, tv, heating etc. And it's pet friendly!

The breakfast was excellent! I think it was a very traditional Japanese breakfast. The location was good. There is a 7-11 across the street and a few local restaurants nearby. It’s within walking distance (about 15 minutes) to Yubatake.
AC was good even in the hot summer we were experiencing during our stay.

It was exciting to be able to choose your own yukata to wear. The breakfast was amazing. The internal elevator to the baths was handy as you don't have to travel through a lobby/large public space. Had a great time in Kusatsu thanks to Kanemidori.

A spacious house by Japanese standards.
Modern Japanese style with four beds and two lounges. Main bedroom can be partitioned. Kitchen is large and has everything you need + a table. Living/dining has a larger table. Bathroom with bath and separate toilet. Easy contact with lovely owner. The house is warm and inviting. 8 minute walk to Yubatake and the centre of town.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. They speak fluent Chinese (I think the owner might be Chinese) Parking onsite and rooms were very large.
Recommended some good site seeing options
Breakfast service was very good. When we stayed I think we were the only ones on some of the days so got table service rather than the buffet.
The view from the window was really good.
