What a beautiful place! The interior is gorgeous, thought was clearly put into every detail. It is practical and beautifully designed. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the place is quiet while in a very central location. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we arrived.

The house is amazing! It is a completely modernized old store house ("kura") with excellent facilities and comfortable sleeping. The kitchen, bath and living room downstairs are pristine and the downstairs bedroom is very comfortable. The upstairs tatami room is huge and the smell of the new tatami is wonderful. My daughter's family slept very comfortably on futon in that room. The tableware in the kitchen comes from the related ceramic gallery and is beautiful and functional. They even serve fresh fruit, croissants and rolls with butter and jam for breakfast. We appreciated everything about the house!

We actually changed and stayed in a two bedroom property also owned by Temari Inn called Madaromi, also located in Kurashiki Biken Historical district. Junko, the owner, was absolutely wonderful, welcoming us and showing us the apartment and telling us about Kurashiki. The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and very well appointed. It is newly renovated and so comfortable. The location is wonderful, in the historic quarter with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, shrines, the river, and cute shops. It has a kitchen, and we were able to make breakfast. Junko recommended a fabulous yakitori restaurant nearby for dinner. The historic town of Kurashiki is definitely worth a visit, with beautifully preserved architecture of the Edo period surrounding a picturesque river. Our stay here was a highlight of our holiday. One of the best hotels we stayed in, and for a budget price! You get a free glass of local wine, the rooms are very nice, and the onsen is perfect - even has a sauna and a cold pool. The location is a few minutes from the old town, and also about 10 minutes from the train station by foot.
