This is an old house, restaured with respect to the original building and with a high sense of contemporary design. The surrounding traditional garden is a delight. We stayed in a lovely room on the 1st floor of the main house, ideal for visitors from abroad with many bags or suitcases; the long room, small sitting room and large bathroom were faithful to photos and descriptions and overall, beautifully designed. As often, the bedside lights are not made for avid readers of books. Mind that the parking lot (and they are rare and precious in Dazaifu !) is a 3 mn walk from the reception. We were very well received and there was always somebody to help or talk to. The breakfast was superb, not to be missed. Location right on Dazaifu Tenmangu's side entrance makes it a perfect choice for visiting early or late, when there is hardly any visitors. Checking out at 12 is an added bonus, so you can spend more time on site.

Self check-in, they message you your lock code and that's that. It didnt really feel like a hotel, but rather like a normal small flat because everything was there: washing machine, drying rack, iron, microwave, sink, large fridge and a table. The bed was rather hard but very comfortable for my taste.

Plenty of choice at breakfast. The onsen is great. The staff will always call you a taxi to the station (only 750 yen) and once an hour in the middle of the day there is a free shuttle bus.
