Beautiful quiet location with a great view. Lodge itself was pristinely tidy. Deirdre was a breath of fresh air, there to welcome us and show us around the place as we arrived. Incredibly well stocked, has everything you could ever imagine needing!

The photos on the website did not portray the real hotel! It is in need of a refurb to make it more professional, attractive and homely to guests. Staff seem rushed and did the bare minimum and we’re not always around to answer questions. It was not easy to find the restaurant opening times. As we only stayed one night it was passable for what we wanted but glad I didn’t stay longer!
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Staff were very nice & helpfull. Receptionist on Sun night was lovely and girl this am was nice too. Met a young guy who works there and he was very friendly. We had a chat about what work they were doing at the hotel. The evening restaurant staff were very busy so had to ask 3 times for a side order but they were also very nice as was the girl serving breakfast she was flying it on her own.
Shower room was lovely & modern .
Free parking at back .
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, everything was excellent for this price bracket. Rooms were large and clean, and quiet at night. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. A good choice of breakfast and evening meal in the bar. Free parking in the street outside from 6pm or use of the hotel car park to the rear accessed via a side street.
Castle hotel is in a great and central location with parking. The staff are exceptional they are welcoming and excellent at their roles. The food was delicious. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
Central location in the town. Good free car parking behind the hotel. Good and free Wi-Fi. Good sized room with an excellent and almost too large bed, and a first class shower.
Breakfast was well presented, with the emphasis on supporting local producers. The staff were excellent, helpful and knowledgeable
The piano in the lobby was better than usual for a hotel piano!
