Basic accommodation, room was ok, hot shower. Outside there's a nice view of Bromo and the Sea of Sand. I walked from the homestay to Bromo and back. The famous sunrise point (King Kong hill) is a bit far from the homestay - 90 mins walk minimum, part of it is uphill. After reading the reviews about a crowded sunrise experience, I decided not to go. But later I discovered that there are also other nice viewpoints along that way (Seruni point), also the driver later told me you could just watch the sunset from near the homestay or Mentigen hill. Host responded over WhatsApp (faster than via Booking.com chat) and helped to arrange a private car to Probolinggo for 300k.

Short walk to a nearby viewpoint of the volcanoes so you don't need to trek to the very busy viewpoints in the area and compete with other tourists for the perfect shot. Bromo National Park entry can be paid for at a ticket booth very close to the hotel on the day. No need to buy/organise beforehand.
