The Elks Head Inn, hotel in Whitfield

Nestled within the beautiful Northumberland countryside in the picturesque village of Whitfield, The Elks Head Inn offers bright rooms and hearty, locally sourced cuisine.

Really friendly and welcoming in a beautiful tranquil setting ideally situated for exploring the area. The breakfast was lovely. Evening meals available although advised to book as the restaurant is popular and busy. We had a meal on our first night which was excellent the menu has a great selection with additional specials to suit everyone. Our room was very comfortable and had a view towards the river which added to the tranquility.

Close to the end of a tough day on the Pennines Way. Great hosts and the food was excellent with good portions and try the chocolate brownie. Nothing was too much trouble for the host. We felt very welcome and well fed. Thank you Lana.

Jennifer and her staff were very welcoming. The Elks Head Inn is situated in an extremely beautiful setting, but still central enough to reach most tourist attractions. There is parking on site and the restaurant is very good and would highly recommend it. The garden is beautiful and a great place for a pre-dinner drink. Good bed and shower. As far as English breakfasts go, you would not get much better.

The location is perfect, the facilities are excellent and Rob and Jen the owners who recently acquired The Elks Head bend over backwards to accommodate your needs even down to making our group a superb rhubarb crumble that we told Rob he must put on his menu. Its ideal for a group of biker's, touring Yorkshire great riding, out of sight parking for your bikes great accommodation and great food and beer what more do you need on your trip. We have already booked for 2023 can't wait to see Rob and Jen and all the staff.
