I used to live in Penicuik a fair few years ago so I know this hotel well. We have stayed here a few times in the last 5 years when we come up from Bristol to visit my old friends. The beds are super comfy and the full Scottish breakfast is second to none. The hotel is close to the centre of Penicuik a 5 minute walk.

The owners gave us a very warm welcome and the property had a lovely ambience. We had everything that we needed for a lovely stay and a lovely touch were the complimentary chocolates and caramel wafer biscuits which we really enjoyed! Loved the peaceful location, soooo may birds, loved waking up in the morning opening the window wide and listening to the birds with a cupa, the pod was very comfortable and very clean, the site owner Colin was very nice and he checked we we're OK and had all we needed, we used a park and ride to get into Edinburgh which was very easy and worked out alot cheaper than parking in Edinburgh, good shops only 10 min drive away, would definitely recommend and would definitely like to return ,
Lovely house. Great host , who welcomed us with a nice cup of tea/coffee. A wonderfull lounge and dining room to use with warm woodfires on a cold rainy day. Upstairs you have your own part of the house with bedroom and badroom. Very comfy bed! Despite what they say on booking.com there is plenty parking space and good working wifi! Great breakfast aswell! Love the friendly dog🤩
