This is a wonderful place! It's beautifully quiet and the apartment is large, modern, and lovely. House is set in pasture land and the coast is within short walking distance. It's convenient to Mullhead and to the south islands, St. Margaret's Hope, the Churchill Defenses. Actually, with the size of Orkney Mainland it's convenient to everything. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We were really pleased with everything here, contact with the hosts was great, keys were easy to locate and we loved that we could go hiking and sightseeing in the day and then come back and relax in the hot tub at night. Also, the hosts provided an unexpected welcome pack of basics to start us off, bread, milk, eggs, butter etc which was so appreciated. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

- Very well equipped - everything you might need to cook is available. One of the best I’ve seen in terms of completeness! - Great and spacious bathroom - Convenient location: close to Kirkwall, yet very quiet (detached house, from which you can see the sea). There’s also a deck around the house when the weather is warmer. - VERY accommodating host who goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay - she even bought one kitchen item that we thought could be useful on Easter Sunday (!). Very responsive before, during and after our stay.

The breakfast was amazing! Delicious. I asked for oat milk and there was plenty. The best coffee I had during my stay in Britain. Lovely fresh fruits. All the ingredients were very good quality. Room 7 is really well lit and ventilated. The kitchenette amenities came in very handy as I was able to drink something hot late at night in my room. I did not mind that the bathroom was outside the room as a bathrobe was provided. Everything is super clean and the guest house is very welcoming. Great vibe. Very warm hospitality.

The chalet was bright and welcoming and very clean. It was good to be greeted by a member of staff the day after our arrival to make sure we were ok. We enjoyed the view of the Churchill barriers and Italian Chapel and being able to bird watch from the window. It is quite close to Kirkwall and we can recommend the ice-cream shop next to the cathedral! It's a good idea to book ferries for day trips to other islands before you begin your holiday as they get booked up very quickly.
