We happened across The Compasses Inn as we needed somewhere to stay locally for work, but had no idea what a treat we had in store. The attention to detail of the team here is second to none and the rooms are excellent and well appointed.
We had to leave before breakfast service on our first morning, and so were treated to a hamper of beautifully presented and delicious goodies left outside our room. The cooked breakfast on our second day was also superb.
Make sure you book ahead for dinner, as this place is rightly enormously popular. The menu is well curated, and excellently executed. The bar/restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, and such charmingly hosts.

I normally stay at branded hotels but decided to choose something a bit more independent. The staff were excellent - friendly and cheerful.
The food was good and made to order.

The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and great service. The area was beautiful, we've driven down the A303 many times, and stayed in several motorway hotels, can't believe we've never found this B&B before, we'd definitely like to stay again.

I was absolutely blown away by this stunning B&B! It is a truly gorgeous house and the bedroom was huge, super comfortable, wonderfully quiet and amazingly clean. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had away from home, all local produce and cooked perfectly. I had stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin the night before - I prefer Marshwood Farm! The host was so welcoming and lovely, I felt like I was coming to stay with old friends!
I am busy working out other reasons for visiting the area in order to come and stay again, this time with friends and family!

One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
It is in the middle of the countryside, very quiet and green. Exactly as the pictures, the host, Tanya, the kindest I have ever encountered. They have a master bedroom with a big bed and a second bedroom with two single beds. One bathroom with a shower and a second one with a bathtub. It is self catered but they offer the fresh ingredients for you to prepare your own breakfast (eggs, milk, butter, jam etc). They have parking space for free. Money well spent in every way.

We stayed at Withyslade Farm for 3 nights when attending a wedding in nearby Tisbury. The cottage is clean and comfortable, and there’s lots of space downstairs so even though there were four of us and a young baby, we never felt cramped. The surrounding area is beautiful and we loved how quiet and peaceful it was! Parking is very close to the cottage and the owner, Helen, was very helpful, even agreeing to amend the dates of our stay at short notice
