The staff are lovely. The position is superb - very rural. It's an old traditional Inn with a tiny bar and two rooms upstairs. It took us both back to our youth. There is a lovely open fire on one side and a log burner on the other. The open fire was going, and I'm sure in the deep of winter when the log burner is going too, it is very cosy (it was cosy anyway, but it's not cold yet).
Plenty of lane walks around the area.
Food was very nice and the breakfast was lovely!
It's a shared bathroom and a little tired, but the shower is great.
Well worth a visit to this quirky Inn.

Breakfast not good; bacon too crispy for me, beans tasteless, fried eggs hard

Breakfast was disappointing, dinner was lovely. Staff were wonderful, but, seemed a bit frazzled. Disappointing that no open fires were on, apparently there was an issue last year and they needed to be relined. We have an old house and have had this done - why have they not got this done over the Summer!!!???! Lovely location, no fridge in room and no air conditioning. Relaxing, old world charm, but, a bit pricey for what it is.

The visit was very good, the room was a bit cramped but that was reflected in the price. Room cleaned, breakfast fine,

The house is very comfortable, the bedroom was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We would have loved to have stayed longer. Jane was very welcoming and we really felt at home.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Friendly staff and the pub customers. They all know each other and made me feel at home straight away - the pub is a proper local! Located right next to Dartmoor, 2 min slow drive to parking for walking. Food was solid pub fare, nothing fancy, which was exactly what I wanted after my 3 hour walk, and the shower functioned well enough. It is a dog-friendly pub so you must like or be tolerant of dogs (or bring your own of course). The room cost reflects the rustic/budget accommodation you are getting.
