We were beyond satisfied with our stay at wayside cottage. Everything was perfect down to the minute details. I never met the hosts but I received a friendly message to make sure we had arrived and everything was in order. The hosts live in the village and aren't too far away if there are any issues. Also really enjoyed the added touch of complimentary homemade biscuits, tea, coffee, milk and even a bottle of wine! Facilities were excellent, the cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need. I was surprised at how well equipped the kitchen was with utensils and kitchenware, various pots, pans, slow-cooker - the list goes on! The cottage itself, while quite old it is in great repair, the furniture and upholstery is all high quality and excellent condition. The bathroom looks brand new and I was relieved to find that the plumbing, water pressure and temperature was all working perfectly. The shower was easy to use and temper, you won't be missing your own shower at home! I didn't put a lot of research into the location and I was pleasantly surprised! Staindrop is a very quiet, clean and friendly village. There is a convenience store 2 minutes walk away with everything you need and the next town is 5 minutes drive away. The hosts provided endless sources of information and suggestions not limited to, the history of the cottage, Raby Castle, walking tracks and nearby amenities. It really was a home away from home, very comfortable, clean and quiet. No unpleasant surprises. The value for money is incredible and I'd definitely stay here over a Premier Inn or Travelodge! It was absolutely beautiful done to a very high standard pictures dnt do it justice just needed your clothes to move in everything was their that was needed every thing to clean it was a amazing place thankyou 😀

Had the most wonderful stay, really helpful host (and hot tub fairy ensuring it was set each day before we got back) gave us recommendations where to eat and go etc. I loved the little touches like ensuring we had milk in, we took our dog and we were welcome with a dog bag with bowls, blankets etc and two mini bottles of fizz in the fridge. The location is beautiful, plenty of nice dog walks and fantastic value for money. We will be coming back for sure. Thanks again!
