The Old School B&B, hotel in Shawbury

A lovely couple run this B'n'B; friendly and happy to pass on information about the local sights. Also, I was offered fresh milk to go with the tea and coffee in my room. A sitting area has been provided for guests, so we aren't confined to our rooms but are, likewise, not impeding on our hosts' private time.

Hawkstone Hall Hotel & Gardens, hotel in Shawbury

Boasting a garden, terrace and views of garden, Hawkstone Hall Hotel & Gardens is set in Shrewsbury, 24 km from Shrewsbury Cathedral.

What a fabulous place. We only stayed for one night but will but for more next year as it was so fabulous. A stunning view as you approach the Hall, and a lovely welcome. Beautiful bedroom and public rooms ( it is a historic house) and the food was also brilliant. Friendly courteous staff. You can even pet the alpacas and donkey belonging to the Hall. I can't praise it enough.

This is a very welcoming B and B , exceptionally clean, comfortable and friendly. The location is quiet, about 10 minutes drive from Shrewsbury, with easy parking. The owners were very accomodating to my odd times of arrival, nothing was too much trouble, and there was a huge breakdast waiting for me in the morning. Good value and highly recommended.

Great location but the road is busy and you need to be careful when exiting the property. Great car parking as it's obviously the old playground. Lovely outlook to the rear over fields and towards the castle ruins. Great cooked breakfast to order. Nicely equipped room and a large bathroom. The shower screen didn't fit perfectly and water leaked out onto the floor but not excessively.

The room was clean, warm and comfortable with lovely views. There was a kettle with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits and the WiFi worked very well. Breakfast was cooked to order at a time of my choice and was plentiful. The B&B is easy to find and has free parking. The owners were warm and friendly.
