The owners were very welcoming on arrival, the bedroom was lovely, the bathroom was superb and so well equipped with toiletries. Tea, coffee, biscuits and even sugared almonds were on the drinks tray along with fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge. There were bathrobes in the wardrobe along with cushions for the outside chairs on the balcony. Breakfast was excellent with so many choices of cereals, fresh & dried fruits, cooked breakfast or smoked salmon.

For sure, the most lasting impression was the almost private breakfast, individually served by the owners, very tasteful, very British, very nice. Including a longer conversion on the appropriateness of cinnamon on porridge :-)

One of the best stays we've had anywhere, and we've been very fortunate in our stays over the years. Just lovely & gracious in every single way. A great base for nearby sights (Salisbury, Stonehenge, Highclere Castle, etc.) but I would go back and stay here if it were at the north pole in a blizzard-- beautiful and immaculate room, superb breakfast, really gracious hosts. The best de-stress location I know.
