The cottage was perfect for me in every way.I was on a solo birding holiday specifically looking for geese and Powfoot is ideally placed. At nearby Caerlaverock I saw an estimated 7000 barnacle geese and then the following day on the English Solway at Rockcliffe there were a further 15,000. In the evening after dark I could hear flocks of geese flying over the village on their way to roost, and during the day there were many wading birds on the estuary right in front of the cottage. A very atmospheric place. I've already booked again for next year, can't wait!

Self catering. Delighted with the welcome package. Location ideal. The beach was just across the road , so couldn’t get much closer !! Local Pub/ restaurant just up the road. Shops a 5 minute drive. Lovely walks and nature parks , even saw some red squirrels!!

The cottage had a lovely homely feel to it. The fire was amazing. We loved the location. Close to the river and town centre. Our daughter also enjoyed the swing in the garden!
