Perfect place & perfect host: James ´s adorable cottage is super comfy, super clean, exquisitely decorated, with all you could wish for in terms of modern facilities (nicely hot water always available, massive TV screen with Netflix etc, excellent heating system, you name it…).Communication with James is super easy & efficient and he will do his utmost to make your stay a great experience: I was so grateful when I found out he had actually bought a foam bed to ensure the mattress in my room would be super soft, when I told him I had bad arthritis! The location is great: within easy walking distance from all the major attractions (you don’t want to miss the museums - I was really impressed by the collection of the Lady Lever Gallery, with an impressive selection of works by the best Pre-Raphaelites. And the very concept of the workers ´village born of the will of the soap magnate W. Lever is in itself worth the detour !). Finally, should you have noticed the proximity of the railway, it’s actually not a problem: I had brought earplugs as I am fussy about noise, but realized both road & rail traffic are non-existant at night so I never needed them and slept extremely well. I had an excellent stay and couldn’t recommend this place enough: probably one of the greatest value for money I ever had!

It was a quirky little place with some very interesting and lovely additions. The owners, Lydia and Dave, seemed lovely, too. It was quiet around the area, so you can have a great night's sleep.

The property was well located for a family event. The hotel was cosy, comfortable and very welcoming. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was excellent and well priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had to leave a early the next morning before breakfast but the host got up and made coffee and toast for us. Offered to do scrambled eggs etc Found the host very obliging and went out of her way to facilitate our early check out.
