the location was quiet and peaceful with a pub 100 yards away across the village green serving great food. The accommodation hosts Andrew and Bridget made fantastic multi choice breakfasts.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
We were originally given a room at the top of the pub .
The stairs are pretty steep so I requested an exchange of rooms .
Not a problem and was then offered a room out of the back of the pub / hotel which was ground level and easy parking ...
I was very kindly offered a take out breakfast from the friendly staff on Sunday am ...
Was a really kind gesture thankyou to all who looked after us Sat afternoon - Sunday am
I stayed in two separate rooms over the two days. Both were spacious and comfortable. Plenty of safe parking. The location is lovely and if i'd had time (i was travelling for work so busy all day) i would have had plenty of options to walk straight from the hotel into Forestry Commission woodland. The restaurant serves well priced good quality food and has a good selection of ales at the bar. The staff were very helpful all round. I would return for a leisure visit to explore the are more.
Breakfast was ok, Fresh towels and room serviced daily. Parking outside were we stayed was very good. Tea & coffee in room. Pleasant staff. Heating in the room was good. We had a ground floor room with a shower.
Pleasant staff. Room was clean, and a reasonable sized bathroom, with bathtub (which I prefer) and shower over. Lovely old property, with a nice bar. I did not take dinner, and so cannot comment. Breakfast quality was good, and service was professional. Plenty of parking.
I loved the attention to detail. Andy & Diane were quick to reply to emails; any request we had. The room was impeccable. I loved the flat sheet on the bed - yes! The coffee maker and biscuits in room were lovely. The breakfast was made to order and superb. My husband appreciated the free parking. For as many rooms as there are in the house, it was very quiet. We had a great night's sleep!
