All the amenities we needed were available, and upon request, a mini refrigerator was promptly provided, which was essential for storing our baby’s milk. Lee, the man on reception, and his sister (whose name I can't recall, who was on duty the second night), were both exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. I had never been into this building before, but was aware that it had fallen into some disrepair since its heyday. However, I was blown away by the splendour which is still evident, despite its age. The rooms were very warm, water piping hot, very clean, very comfortable beds and Lee was clearly very interested in the building and its history, having gone there when it was a pub/club in the 90s. This passion was also shared by his sister and the lady to whom I handed my key on the morning after my second stay. These employees are outstanding ambassadors for The George Hotel and I hope that the owner takes note and is made aware of my review, as it is very well deserved.
