Very quiet location for a peaceful sleep. We did hear an owl hoot in the evening, very special! The bed is enormous and really very comfortable with good quality duvet and pillows. Large bathroom as well with all facilities. Dogs were super friendly and welcoming as well as their owner. I loved seeing the squirrels run and jump in and out of the walnut tree.

A well-equipped and clean house in a great location. We appreciated that all the kitchen bits we needed to cater for ourselves were there and in great condition. We also enjoyed a box-fresh Cluedo and the milk, biscuits and wine on arrival. The towels and bedding were all fresh and plentiful. Nice touches like this really make a difference. Tescos is only a 5-minute walk away and the pub on the corner is a lovely spot for a beer with views. You might even get a visit from one of the locals... A knock on the door on Sunday morning turned out to be a dextrous and cheeky cow!

The staff were genuinely welcoming and approachable.
We had been at Hotel Tresanton the day before and the Crown and Garter staf far exceeded those we met there in hospitality, approachability and efficiency..
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Very comfortable. Loved the continental breakfast already in the room. Perfect for a quick getaway early the next morning. Plenty of car parking space.
Excellent breakfast. Good well-equipped room, not huge, but comfortable and suited us well. Parking in the station car park at the back of the hotel was very convenient - no charge to hotel patrons. Staff were excellent.
The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient.
Food was delicious, well prepared and quickly served with good choice available.
The room was comfortable with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay.
Car parking available
Friendly staff, excellent location, good breakfast, comfortable beds and quiet room at the back of the hotel. Car parking also no problem, free in Station Road car park.
The property was very good,no issues while I was there .
Arthur booked me in when I arrived and he was superb,I had breakfast and again that was excellent.
Free parking which is a big plus.😀
Allocated a ground floor room, number 19, across the courtyard with the River Dun right outside the window. I didn't eat in the evening but did have an English breakfast which was cooked to order. The Bear is a very old historical building and the decor reflected this which I found intriguing. Good location and free parking. However there were a couple of things that I felt could be improved.
