Lovely solid looking hotel in an elevated position very handy for exploring the area. Large car park and lovely gardens with a contemporay feeling. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and accomodating. Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Evening meal was very tasty and the breakfast was very good. Bedroom was huge with a very modern bathroom. Bed was king sized and very comfy. Bus stop across the road for exploring the area.

The hotel is a beautiful building, full of character. The food was excellent, we had breakfast and an evening meal and both were of a really high standard. Location is excellent to get out and explore the Hope Valley which is a beautiful part of the world. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking available too.

I have updated my review - originally reported "Great staff, large clean and modern room - good selection for breakfast", however i have now received a Parking Fine for parking in the car park attached to the hotel. I have called the hotel twice to remove the fine, asked for a confirmation email on the second occasion to confirm the hotel had contacted the car park company - nothing. Waiting to see if the fine has increased to £100. Poor customer service and may turn out to be an expensive stay

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very nice and there is plenty of on site free parking. The location is excellent for accessing nearby market towns and villages. If you like walking there are a number of circular routes that start at Grindleford Station which is close by. The breakfasts which were included in the price were excellent and best of all the hotel is dog friendly.
