Food is always good here. We had a sharing steak and it was fabulous. Great choice at breakfast too, freshly prepared and served to table (and an option to have it served to room although we didn't take that option). Room decor was awesome.

A rainy day as we approached and we were a little apprehensive as the pub/hotel looked a little remote. However, the staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. The food was superb, good portion sizes as well. Great location for visiting Durham as well as a short distance from Newcastle

The Loft cottage we stayed in was warm, spacious and comfortable. It has a great. It really felt like home. There is a great village pub across the street with good food and we enjoyed a game of trivia with the locals who made us feel welcome as well.
The hosts were very good and what you see in the photos is exactly what you get.
