Someone has finally designed a hotel room that works! A shower you can switch on and control the temperature BEFORE stepping into the jet-stream, lights you can turn all off from the bed, USB charging slots by the bed and the desk, a useable workstation with convenient plugs and a comfortable chair, plus a separate easy chair. The whole thing works beautifully and the service was smiling and bright. The attached pub offered a great atmosphere and food, breakfast was delicious with the best combination of continental plus optional extras, and the car park is just outside the front of the building. While not a "luxury" hotel, the Lodge at Solent skips all the unnecessary nonsense and it really has everything you need. I rarely give five stars, but if I could give six, I would give six. Excellent!
