Beautiful house in an excellent location for touring around Dumfries and Galloway. Very comfortable traditionally decorated house complemented by friendly helpful hosts. Breakfast was excellent and parking available outside the house. Wigtown book town is a lovely village well worth a visit not only for books but also coffee and cakes! Hope to return soon.

Restaurant was fine, well laid out . The menu offered plenty of choice & our meals were very good.
Breakfast the following day was a classic full Scots, well cooked & presented.
The staff were very friendly & efficient.

The Ship was a really nice place to stay. Perfect location for a short stay. The rooms were nice. Everywhere was clean n tidy. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed our evening meal we had booked for sunday evening.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
We loved everything, Petra was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. The cottage had character and was warm and cosy, it was very well equipped, there was a good selection of books to read. The location was ideal to explore the local area which has plenty to see and do. The holiday was very good value for money. We will certainly be looking to book again in the not to distant future. An added bonus was the private parking space directly outside the cottage.
Good location for touring. Its similar to some youth hostels I have stayed in with a well equipped kitchen and dinning room . Nice and warm good central heating. TV and internet free. Free parking.

Car parking free ensuite shower and toilet...very comfy bed and warm bedding and two pillows and a t.v excellent for a lone business traveller like myself and communal kitchen had everythg and very inviting...clean place ...reception very helpful at giving directions and help with getting into building as was working during day
For me the location is perfect. Very good value for money. Someone phoned me and explained how to gain entry and car parking which was helpful. I will be booking an overnight again very shortly.
