Higherlands was a very comfortable accommodation and Julie was a lovely host. My partner and I stayed for one night in a double room, with a private bathroom outside the room. The room was simple but comfortable, didn't have a TV, but that wasn't a problem for us since we arrived there around 9 pm and left the next morning. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room was quiet and dark, nice and warm. We had a great sleep, and woke up the next day with a beautiful view of the countryside out the window. The bathroom was right next to the room and only we were using it. Everything was very clean and to a high standard. We had great communication with Julie, and she kindly helped us find the concealed entrance to the accommodation. She also made delicious brews and full english breakfast!

Location for Alton towers was excellent. The studio was cosy, but ample space for a family of four. All the basic kitchen items were available which made it easy to make simple meals.
Great communication from the host leading up to us arriving - we arrived in the evening, and they accommodated that late arrival.

We spent the weekend here with a 6 year old 2 year old. The children wanted to move into the carriage for good. It was a fantastic experience and we got so close to the cows each morning.
This carriage was a 20 minute drive from Alton Towers. Jayne the host provided all info by text message and shared contact details if needed. Although not iscolated we felt we had privacy and wasn’t on someone else’s land as such. We felt comfortable in the carriage. It was chilly outside all weekend but the carriage was toasty and warm.
Everything was provided including towels and fresh milk. There is a restaurant 5 min walk one direction and another pub/food place 5 min walk in the other direction. We liked this as we could leave the car at the farm and walk to dinner as we aren’t confident country road drivers especially at night.
Please book this as a couple break or for an experience with younger children. A really bespoke experience. The views from the carriage of lane and country side was out of this world.

One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Easy, free parking space. The house is beautifully decorated to a high standard. Abbey was lovely and very helpful, particularly before our arrival. Had dinner in the pub across the road 'The Huntsman' nice Irish bar with gorgeous pizza's. You can also have breakfast but we left really early to get to opening day at Alton Towers (only 15 min drive awsy).
Breakfast was the traditional full English - perfect set up for the day. Room was cosy and very comfortable, and the draught real ale perfectly kept. A very convenient location for Alton Towers, with free parking - just what we needed and definitely preferable to the blandness of a Travelodge!
The cottage is perfect for visiting Alton Towers. The hot tub was ready to use on arrival. The Welcome Book was full of information. Off street parking.
Good base for our holiday, house is well presented and has most of what you need, including a good size fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer, although we did not make use of these. The shower was good and bathroom clean. Bedrooms and beds very good. I was concerned about the on street parking before we got there, but there is plenty of places to park and we got outside the house very time. Nice quiet street.
Lovely, clean and spacious property, great value for money. Well equipped with everything we needed; including WiFi, Sky, central heating, washing machine, tumble dryer, and free parking. Also lots of other thoughtful little extras. The whole house was spotlessly clean and cosy throughout. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for Alton Towers, 10 minutes car journey away. I would definitely book to stay here again. Thank you!
It was close to Alton towers which was the main reason we picked it & street parking was just outside in a quiet street (no problems parking), 3 minutes away from Asda and a corner shop. It has wifi, a bath, good TV selection (Netflix) and so many sweet and cool touches. There was a back yard to chill in. Lounge was comfortable and the kids loved it. Very warm as well. Handy to have washing machine and dryer. For the price it was perfect.
