Hudsons Guest House - Adults only, hotel in Castletown

Hudsons Guest House - Adults only offers adults only accommodation for people over the age of 18.

Arrived late, but still had a parking spot. Friendly, cheerful greeting, somewhere to sit down while completing the formalities, and an offer to carry my bag up to the room. All a relief in my tired and slightly frazzled state. Room was lovely. Not big, obviously, or it would be a double, but had a sink, fridge, hanging space, a couple of chairs and a desk, all without seeming overly crowded. Sockets near the bed as well. Two toilets available, and a night light in the hallway. Bathroom was spacious and shower looked good, though I didn't try it myself. And I got my bag carried down again. Would definitely return 2 months later: I did return, and it was even better. They had recognised my name on the booking, and amazingly remembered a couple of passing comments I made about my preferences, so did what they could to fulfill them. I was beyond impressed!

The Location was excellent a very short stroll to Chesil Beach and walk along the raised walkway. It was a gated community so parking for our one car was ideal. Not far to a regular bus route into Weymouth.

Very comfy beds, comfortable sofa, well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed being able to hear the sea at night. Very easy to find and good parking space immediately outside property. We had a very nice cream tea at The Lobster Pot cafe up at the Portland Lighthouse. We also had takeaway fish and chips twice from the very good chippie at the roundabout down the road.

We spoke to the owner and the lady was pleasant. The house is located near Victoria Gardens park, which was lovely and we walked up the hill to go to the Coop. The property has Netflix and a big TV. The location is excellent, we jumped in our car and saw local stone sculpture park, Portland and Rufus castles, Portland Bill lighthouse, Portland museum, even drove to Weymouth and Dorchester. The house was quiet, pleasant and parking was fine as well. The neighbours were friendly and we felt safe.

The view (great sunset), location and the hot tub (clean and relaxing after a day of driving and walking) were as described. The bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen were clean. The kitchen and bathroom has been recently renovated. Plenty of hot water. Parking was typical street parking. Milk was provided. Beds were average—we all slept comfortably. Location was close to the D-day centre and Portland Castle which we wanted to visit.
