The bed was comfortable, the kitchen and living room were nicely done, and there was a washer/dryer (though I did not use it). It was in a great location; the pub around the corner was wonderful, and so were the locals I met there.

Excellent spacious and comfortable accommodation, easy to find and well equipped. Dog friendly, easy parking and a short walk to the local bar/hotel serving great food (booking needed). Lots of lovely hidden bays, exposed headlands and quiet hamlets near-by, whilst Kirkwall and all the well known neolithic sites are within easy driving distance.

I spent three lovely days in Ayre of Cara B&B. Breakfast was tasty, the owners were really friendly and polite and their dog-I love dogs-terrific. My room was cozy and large with a kettle to make coffee or tea. The bathroom was large, as well. A nice place where to spend a few days in Mainland. Free car parking.

We booked the last room available which was a suite with two bedrooms, so we had to pay for more room than we needed. However the living space was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. Very good bathroom and a small kitchen. They kindly provided us with fresh milk for making tea (we hate UHT). Restaurant was very good for breakfast and evening meal. The staff are all lovely. Informal, easy atmosphere and very relaxing. Lovely views. Plenty of onsite parking.
