We happened across The Compasses Inn as we needed somewhere to stay locally for work, but had no idea what a treat we had in store. The attention to detail of the team here is second to none and the rooms are excellent and well appointed.
We had to leave before breakfast service on our first morning, and so were treated to a hamper of beautifully presented and delicious goodies left outside our room. The cooked breakfast on our second day was also superb.
Make sure you book ahead for dinner, as this place is rightly enormously popular. The menu is well curated, and excellently executed. The bar/restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, and such charmingly hosts.

I was absolutely blown away by this stunning B&B! It is a truly gorgeous house and the bedroom was huge, super comfortable, wonderfully quiet and amazingly clean. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had away from home, all local produce and cooked perfectly. I had stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin the night before - I prefer Marshwood Farm! The host was so welcoming and lovely, I felt like I was coming to stay with old friends!
I am busy working out other reasons for visiting the area in order to come and stay again, this time with friends and family!
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Very cute. Parking outside. Room had tea and coffee making facilities and homemade shortbread which was divine. Earplugs also provided as the room we were in was beside the beer garden.
Great B and B with a lot of character, Loved the restaurant and the bar. Food was great. A bit out of the way but easy drive to salisbury town. Very quiet and peaceful night sleep. car park is well lit if you happen to arrive late. but best to have a torch.
The seperate annex and room was very well decorated and very clean with a very comfy bed. The pub had a nice friendly attosphere with plenty of parking and a lovely outside area to sit in with a drink in the nice weather.
Lovely rooms, really comfy beds, tea making facilities and even iron/ironing board in the room (useful ahead of a wedding!).Great breakfast served in the restaurant, friendly staff, parking on site.
The pub is very nice, beautifully decorated, the food was amazing and the staff very friendly. The garden is very sunny and nice as well. Parking is right next to the back garden.
