I spent a week in Bridport in November to attend the annual literature festival. I chose Southcroft for its location. The two main festival venues (Electric Palace and The Bull) were within an easy, 10-min walk from the property. My hosts contacted me before my arrival to ask if I needed anything. When David heard that I was coming by train, he offered to book a local taxi service for me. This worked out very well and I used the same firm for my return journey. On arrival, David and Lynda were both there to welcome me, hand over the keys and explain how everything in the apartment worked. I wasn't expecting any food to be available in the apartment but there was enough there for a hearty breakfast the following morning, with some left over for the following days, too. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. The dressing gown and towels were super-soft and brilliant white. As the property is on a hill and the apartment on the first floor, I enjoyed some wonderful views of the Dorset countryside from the windows.
