Exceptionally well appointed bedroom for the price we paid, lots of toiletries, new facilities, large and comfortable bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to find and parking just opposite. Good breakfast too.
Lovely hosts and staff. Open plan eating and bar area with real coal/log fire. A obvious community asset welcoming young and old alike. Good range on the food menu (Thai curries and traditional meals - fish, pies & chips etc.). Excellent cooked breakfast.
Village is off the main road so the road outside is quiet. There was plenty of kerb space to park on the road - and there are a couple of parking places over the road (2 reserved for EV's). Convenient bus stop outside for travel to Hexham or Carkisle in the other direction.
The location was OK but on street parking was not to my liking.Staff were very accommodating and friendly,and the room very clean.We would definitely go again.
Location in relation to our intended destination was excellent, we couldn't have got any closer. Parking provision was also very good. We both had a full English breakfast which was quick to arrive and very tasty. Staff members are efficient, helpful, cheerful and friendly. Rooms are quiet with tea and coffee provided and beds are comfortable.
Great location for walking Hadrian's Wall. Staff really friendly and helpful to walkers. Drying rooom which was useful for wet boots and clothes after a day's walking. Good resturant. Good large bed, tea and coffee facilities in the room. Car park available and also on the AD122 bus route from Hexham
The Bowes is a great little hotel conveniently located to explore Hadrians Wall. Comfortable modern rooms compliment the bistro style of the bar and restaurant albeit in an old building. There's no hotel car park, but parking is not a problem along the road. There are frequent buses and a rail station 300 meters from the hotel on the Newcastle to Carlisle line.
Staying in such a fantastic pub was a real joy. Wonderful own brewed beer was delicious and recommended food was very good. Staff were great. A short cut through the car park set you on your way to walk to Vindolanda. Breakfast was really excellent with fresh fruit and a range of hot options including eggs Benedict with smoked salmon.
